The stacker crane automated storage system is an efficient three-dimensional warehouse system built with stacker crane as the core equipment, combined with high-rise racks, WMS and conveying systems.
Core Equipment and Structure
Stacker Crane
As the core handling equipment of the system, the stacker crane achieves precise storage and retrieval through three-axis coordinated motion.
- Travel Mechanism: Motor-driven horizontal movement along the laneway track, using laser or photoelectric encoders for positioning.
- Lifting Mechanism: A wire rope or chain drives the loading platform vertically, with real-time height monitoring.
- Fork Mechanism: A telescopic design uses sensors to precisely access pallets or containers.
Intensive High-bay Racking System
The shelf height can reach over 20 meters. It can provide more than 10,000 cargo spaces and maximize the utilization of vertical space.
Supporting Transportation and Conveying Equipment
- Conveyor system: responsible for connecting shelves and transportation equipment, and transporting pallets and goods.
- RGV (Rail Guided Vehicle): Responsible for the transportation of goods between the warehouse area and the stacker crane.
Workflow
Inbound Stage
When goods arrive at the receiving station, the WMS system assigns a storage location and sends instructions to the stacker crane. The stacker crane locates itself in three dimensions and moves to the target aisle. The stacker crane then ascends to the target level and extends its fork to the target location, completing the storage and retrieval process.
Outbound Stage
The WMS triggers a goods transfer instruction to the stacker to pick up the goods. The goods are then transferred to the RGV by the conveyor and transported to the outbound area by the RGV. Finally, the inventory is automatically updated.
Intelligent Scheduling
The automated stacker crane warehouse system supports first-in, first-out strategies, optimizing storage and retrieval efficiency.
This system seamlessly integrates with MES/ERP systems, achieving full process automation.
